Why do we do this to our kids?

Atticus is scared of Santa. I'm not sure why, but he always calls him scary santa. I started to explain to him the process of telling santa what you want, sitting on his lap, etc. and I realized it is kinda creepy!! To ease him into the season, we took him to a local clothing store that had Santa Elvis. There weren't many other kids there, so Atticus had time to get used to him a bit before braving a photo. I decided I'd save on future therapy costs and not subject him to the real Santa picture experience. Maybe next year!
