Jeff and I went to a wedding last weekend for our friends Doug and Maija. We had a ton of fun and even made some new friends! True to our style, we danced until the DJ was packing it up. Dancing included the splits (Jeff), rolling on the floor (Jeff again), a "Roger Rabbit" contest (sadly, this was a very sober me) and everything in between.
What our dance session did NOT include was the sprinkler. Many of you may already know this story, so skip ahead. Last May at Brooke and Eric's wedding (also a ton of fun and we are already missing you guys a ton!), we were dancing and Jeff was getting a bit carried away. Just as I was moving in to tell him to turn of the "sprinkler", he made a reverse move and I ended up with a black eye! Needless to say, this move is no longer part of the repertoire.

Getting back to last Saturday...
As we were leaving the wedding, one of the bridesmaids and her husband stopped us and told us they enjoyed our dancing. They said they could tell we didn't have kids yet. They remembered the days of just being married and before their two kids (they were about our ages). We told her that we had actually been married 7 years and have a 15 month old son. They were very surprised. It made my night to be seen as so carefree! Who says you can't have a good time once the kids starting coming along? Of course, our fellow dancing friends stayed out until 3 and we were home by 11 to relieve Nana. But, we didn't have hangovers the next morning (at 5:15 a.m. wake up call!).
Sadly, there are no more weddings on the horizon for this year, so I guess we'll have to take our dancing shoes out on the town one night!
