Atti loved the beach. We looked for shells and poked at the barnacles. It was low tide when we got there, so we saw some snails and sea anemones. Jen met us down there and we spent a wonderfully lazy afternoon strolling along and lunching. (As lazy as you it can be with a toddler, anyway.) We lunched at Cactus and snuck in a couple of drinks and dessert (Cowgirl Brownie!!) while Pi took a nap. Thanks to Daddy for taking him around the block when he started getting sleepy! We're planning on lots of trips to Alki this summer. Let us know if you want to meet up!
The highlight of the Fremont parade wasn't the naked bicyclists this year, but the bubble man. Of course, he's at the beginning, so Atti kept saying "more bubbles" throughout. Nana bought him a very cool bubble-blowing cow, so now he can be his own bubble man!
A pic of him at the parade, on Nana's shoulders
Picking strawberries was wonderful. It is a short season here and the berries don't last long! We brought them home and canned homemade jam that evening. I felt like a pioneer, it was my first canning attempt. All sealed and gelled! I must admit that Nana helped, though.
Here's a video of picking strawberries. I apologize for the bad quality. It was windy and I was talking kind of loud.
And a couple of strawberry pics!
Happy Summer to all!

Sounds like you guys have been having some fun! Atticus is adorable! I love strawberries! Good job on the canning! You are way more ambitious than me! I just buy mine, cause I am very lazy!
Thanks for the pics. When you run out of strawberry jam come to Libby, I made up 30 containers of strawberry jam for the freezer and some of them have your name on them. :-) Sure is good stuff. Luv ya all, Gramma Weezie
what a handsome young man. Didn't look like he ate to many by his clean face.
Very cute pictures Emily! I loved the video and I love his little boots! He is a doll. Where did you go to pick strawberries? That looks like a lot of fun! Hope you are having a good summer!
